For the fall semester, the University has hired eight female professors to serve as inspiration for other institutions planning to increase diversity and encourage more women in STEM. The grant money was used to help with recruiting and will support the women in their new jobs.
In a statement, President Mary Lyons said, “This is a very exciting development for the university. This outstanding group of professors will inspire more young women to enter these fields and also collaborate on cutting-edge research across their respective disciplines.”
