Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England Empowers Young Women

GirlScoutAudienceThe Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England recently held a special program at its Warwick headquarters to send empowering messages to young women.

A panel of prominent women from various industries were invited to speak at the event. They shared their inspiring messages to 8,000 members of the group using webcam and social media.

The speakers included federal Judge O. Rogeriee Thompson of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and Rhode Island College President Nancy Carriuolo who shared their stories of the different paths they took to success. The panel taught the young women the importance of perseverance and to embrace failure in order to be successful in whatever career they take.

“We wanted to focus on women leaders from diverse careers,” Ginger Lallo, senior director of fund development, product sales and marketing for Girl Scouts in Rhode Island and southern Massachusetts.
