KU Hosting Women’s Leadership Institute

July 8, 2014 | By admin

The University of Kansas will be hosting Kansas Women’s Leadership Institute this week. Women from six countries and Kansas will participate in this leadership program.

The three-week program will start on July 9, and participants will work on projects and proposals to improve their local communities.

Women from Afghanistan, India, Morocco, Mongolia, Pakistan, and Zambia are expected to arrive in Lawrence after spending two weeks in Washington, D.C., where they learned about the U.S. government, history, and culture. This is the first year that women from Kansas universities were invited to attend.

Kansas Women’s Leadership Institute is funded through the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
